What You’ll Need
- Coolaroo Windbreak
- Measuring tape
- Scissors or Coolaroo Shade Cloth Cutter

- Timber Fasteners & Timber Studs – for timber posts or frames
- Tie Wraps – for fences or wire supports
- Butterfly Clips or Round Clips – for quick or temporary fixing
- Lacing Cord & Needle – for joining panels or reinforcing edges
1. Measure & Plan
- Measure the length and height of the area to be protected.
- Install the windbreak on the windward side of the garden or crop area.
- Allow extra fabric for securing and tensioning.
2. Cut to Size (If Required)
- Cut using scissors or the Coolaroo Shade Cloth Cutter.
- The knitted fabric will not fray when cut.
3. Secure Using Integrated Eyelets
- Use the eyelets knitted into the selvedges as the primary fixing points.
- Thread Coolaroo Tie Wraps through the eyelets to secure the fabric to posts, fences, or frames.
- Coolaroo Tie Wraps, Coolaroo Butterfly Clips, or Coolaroo Round Clips.
- Space fixings evenly along the edge with closer spacing in high wind areas.
4. Tension & Finish
- Fix one end first, then secure the opposite end while applying tension.
- Keep the fabric firm but do not overstretch.
- Secure the bottom edge to minimise movement and flapping.
5. Care & Safety
- Inspect fixings regularly, especially after strong winds.
